This evening, I attended the last of the BBC Hustings. The place was packed and John Fernandez hadn’t lost any of his energy or light humour. The atmosphere was very good. On the panel were Liam McKenna, Tom Rylatt, Steph Shore, Andy Sloan, Gavin St Pier, Jennifer Strachan, Nikki Symons, Lee Van Katwyk, Simon Vermeulen, Steven Wall and Steve Williams. Tom Rylatt’s opening was slightly shakier than I have come to expect but still a 9.5/10. Yes, he’s that good. Knowledgeable, mature and slick, far beyond his age of 25! Two were weaker in person than I expected and two maybes lost my vote.
Tomorrow, I’ll be heading to the Rockmount from 4pm for the final or penultimate stop on the Andy Cameron et al pub tour to meet voters. I’ll be showing off my new campaign T-shirt, so if you don’t get a chance to speak to me, you can still learn my values and positions quickly. I hope to see many of you there.
