I went to see Aurigny this afternoon. They went over how/why Aurigny was taken on by the States and the market conditions they (and indeed other similarly placed airlines) have faced in recent years. The numbers were quite stark.
Then I went to pick up my signs which are finally ready! One is going up at Vazon on the Rocquettes Road connecting the coast to La Houguette Crossroads near St. Matthew’s Church. More specifically, on that awkward corner where La Mare Road, Rue Des Rocquettes and La Veille Mare meet. It turns out the 4ft stake for my A2 size placard is too short for Camp du Roi, so it’s being put up either on Cobo Coast Road in the property next to Cobo Bay Hotel or along Les Varendes next to Tina Bury’s placard. Carl Meerveld has kindly already put up A3s of my mug in several key locations. Tomorrow evening, I’ll secure my outdoor banners on parish land, namely in Brock Road and opposite the Duke of Richmond.
I heard from several voters at the last States-run meet the candidates event at Beaucamps High. It was hot in the hall, so I was glad to catch a breeze in the mezzanine courtyard.
After dropping signs off to family who had kindly agreed to erect them, I took John Gollop to The Vault so he could perform his slot at Sarah Hansmann-Rouxell’s comedy night. I quickly gave up ordering drinks because it interrupted sets. Steve Falla, Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, Lindsay De Sausmarez and John were very good. Thank you to Sarah for organising.
Tomorrow, I’m off to the Autism & Me meet at Oaty & Joey’s. Let’s hope the number of candidates present don’t make the event autism-unfriendly because that really would be a PR own-goal. Then I might attend the experts hustings at Styx.
