Housekeeping

Several groups have asked me to endorse their asks. I’m not going to endorse something counter to or beyond my principles, so this isn’t as full a list as many of the groups would have liked. Please see below those endorsements (which I do take seriously). In no particular order:

Association of Guernsey Charities 4 Big Asks (involving local charities from the beginning of the process, respecting their expertise and start commissioning so they can plan ahead in delivering what the States / people of Guernsey need them to)
Liberate Rainbow Mark (pro-LGBTQIA+)
Action For Children (a charity that provides teenagers and young adults with training flats to house them where no other viable accommodation options exist)
At Home in Guernsey (a homeless charity with aims and mechanisms similar to Caritas – see below)
Caritas (who want to provide prefab homes (not caravans) to islanders seeking a path to permanent home ownership but lack somewhere to live right now – solohaus.co.uk)
G8 (loose conglomeration of eight Guernsey business groups: Chamber of Commerce, Guernsey International Business Association, Hospitality Association, Construction Forum, Institute of Directors, Guernsey Retail Group, Confederation of Guernsey Industry and the Association of Guernsey Charities) #gsyelectionpledge (this is one of the rare occasions where the needs of the business community aligns with those of the young)
Rebalancing the Sovereign Fund away from BlackRock, any equities of companies extracting, producing, refining, selling or distributing fossil fuels or arms that end up used to target civilians (plus any basket funds that contain any of these).
#buyintoretail (Guernsey Retail Group)
Citizens’ Advice Bureau
Paws Protection Project (pressuring the police to prosecute those guilty of animal neglect or cruelty and reforming the legislation concerning the purchase and use of fireworks to protect the wellbeing animals)

Apologies to those organisations I didn’t respond to by their deadlines of 3rd – 10th June. We candidates have been swamped by emails and events to attend / participate in and ~20th May to 10th June was the busiest time for me. My silence was not due to not considering your asks unimportant or unsupportable, I promise!
