Sunday 8th June

Today was much the same as yesterday at Beau Sejour, only different people came to my stall. I was pleased to see some voters from yesterday were going around again, visiting those who they didn’t see yesterday. Most voters were very organised. As soon as I saw voters approaching me with paper and pen, looking purposeful, I knew they probably wanted me to clarify my positions on things not covered in my manifesto. For those who were carrying nothing and didn’t look like they were deliberately targeting any candidates, the “tell me one thing you’re about” or “describe yourself in a nutshell” questions would come out. Then, as a generalist, I would have to take a guess as to what I would be better bringing to the fore. Sometimes I got it wrong. But I did have many walk off saying I had their vote. Can only be happy with that!

Tomorrow evening, the Fair Tax Group are holding their final hustings 7-9pm at the Performing Arts Centre. However, I will be attending a disabled people meet/briefing at the Ron Short Centre. As much as I wanted to see the Fair Tax Group be quizzed again, the disabled people meet/briefing is more important to me.

On Tuesday evening, the last of the hustings for candidates residing in St. Peter Port will take place in the Constables’ Office 7:30 – 9:30. Seating will be limited.
