Saturday 7th June

It was good to see many members of the public today at Beau Sejour. Some were very positive, two didn’t approve of my answers to their questions (can’t win them all) and two gave me some valuable insight that I need to look into further.

Also I now have approval to put more posters up! The comraderie was good today too, many candidates crossing the floor of the hall to enthusiastically converse with would-be future colleagues. My printouts on my partition wall couldn’t quite stay with the Sellotape, so I was very grateful when Jayne Ozanne (who was back-to-back with me) offered her stronger tape and scissors. On the lookout now for pins or a flat stapler, as my board looks messy now. Once that has been fixed, I’ll have another go at posting on Instagram. Not sure what happened to yesterday’s post.

I, along with most of the other candidates, will be in the Sir John Loveridge Hall for you to visit between 10am to 4pm tomorrow. If you couldn’t make today and can’t make tomorrow, then we will be at Les Beaucamps High School on Wednesday evening 5:30 – 8:30.

Before then, however, I will be attending the Disability event in the Ron Short Centre tomorrow evening. Then on Tuesday evening, the last of the hustings I organised for candidates residing in St. Peter Port will take place in the Constables’ Office in Lefebvre Street 7:30 – 9:30, moderated by Jenny Kendall-Tobias. There are 13 candidates at present. I’m not expecting any additions or drop-outs at this stage. Art Allen-O’Leary, Kerry Barnfather, Chris Blin, Tina Bury, Rob Curgenven, John Gollop, Rob Harnish, Munazza Malik, Aidan Matthews, Diane Mitchell, Tom Moore, Chris Nicolle and Jennifer Strachan. Seating will be limited, so please get there early if you don’t want to / can’t stand for two hours!
